Overview of Australia’s Visa Pathways
Where talent meets opportunity—and GRIA clears the path.
Why Visa Pathways Matter
Behind every successful international hire is more than just a job offer—it’s a visa strategy.
Australia’s skilled migration system is powerful, but complex. Choose the wrong pathway, and you risk delays, cost blowouts, or losing great talent. But with the right support, you unlock not just workers—but loyalty, longevity, and compliance peace of mind.
At GRIA, we simplify the system. Our team—alongside our expert immigration division, AIA—navigates the full visa lifecycle for you. We make sure that employers, candidates, and partners are on the right visa, right from the start.
Main Types of Australian Work Visas
Skills in Demand (SID) Visa – Subclass 482
Australia’s newest flagship visa for employer-sponsored skilled workers.
Introduced in December 2024, the SID visa replaces the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa and sets a new standard for flexibility and clarity.
Key features:
- Three streams: Specialist Skills, Core Skills, and Skills in Demand Labour Agreement
- Clear PR pathway: Most streams link directly to permanent residency
- Fast-tracked experience: Just 1 year in your nominated occupation required
- Full family inclusion: Dependents included with study and work rights
- Duration: Up to 4 years (5 years for Hong Kong passport holders)
GRIA ensures all candidates on the GRIAworks platform are SID-ready and properly matched to eligible roles.
